The theme has the following requirements in order to be successfully installed.

Downloading The Theme

Go to your ThemeForest Downloads page, locate the theme, click the green Download button and select the Installable WordPress file only option.

Installation

There are two ways to install the theme, through the WordPress dashboard or through FTP.

Installing Through WordPress Dashboard

  1. Log in to the WordPress Admin Panel.
  2. Go to Appearance > Themes.
  3. Click the Add New button.
  4. Click the Upload Theme button and upload the zip file you just downloaded.

If you receive the message “Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again.” or “The link you followed has expired. Please try again.” this is most likely because your server’s specifications are too low. Currently the theme is around 20MB. Increase the PHP Memory Limit, Post Maximum Size and WordPress Upload Limit values.

Installing Through FTP

If the theme is too large to be uploaded through the WordPress admin panel you should upload the theme through an FTP client or file manager instead.

  1. Set up your FTP server as explained here http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients.
  2. Unzip the zip folder your download to show the theme folder called “magzine”.
  3. Upload the theme folder to the /wp-content/themes/ directory on your server.

Activating The Theme

Once you have installed, you can activate the theme by going to Appearance > Themes and clicking the Activate link below the theme thumbnail.

Using The Child Theme

This theme comes with a child theme called Magzine Child. A child theme loads the parent theme, and then allows you to add your own files on top of that to safely modify the parent theme. When you update the parent theme any changes you have made to the child theme will not be overwritten. To activate the child theme go to GhostPool Core > Import Demos and click the Install/Activate Child Theme button at the top of the page.

Installing/Activating Required Plugins

Once the theme has been activated you need to activate the GhostPool Core and Elementor plugins. To do this, do the following:

  1. You should see a red notice box at the top of the page.
  2. Click the Install link to be taken to the plugins page.
  3. Next click the Install link below the GhostPool Core plugin.
  4. Install or activate the Elementor plugin in the same way.
