Creating A Homepage

Setting up your home page is the same as setting up any other page, the only difference is you need to tell WordPress what page will be your home page. Aardvark includes several predesigned home pages which can be added using the demo importer, however you can build any type of home page you want using the WPBakery Page Builder.

Setting A Homepage

Step 1: Go to Pages > Add New to create a new page.

Step 2: Give your page a title.

Step 3: On the right hand side in the Page Attributes panel select the Homepage page template from the Template dropdown menu.

Step 4: You can then use the WPBakery Page Builder to create custom layouts.

Step 5: A new section will also appear below the text editor called Homepage Options where you can edit the page options.

Step 6: Now publish the page.

Step 7: To make this page your homepage go to Settings > Reading, select A static page option and from the Front page drop down menu select the page you just created (leave the Posts page drop down menu empty).

Step 8: To import one of the demo homepages go to Aardvark > Theme Setup > Import Demo Data and select one of the demos.
