The theme has a number of frontend post submission features so users can submit posts from the the frontend of the site.
Post Submission Form
To create a post submission form do the following:
Step 1: Create or edit and a page and click the Backend Editor button.
Step 2: Click the Add Element button to open the Add Element window and select the Post Submission Form 2 element.
Step 3: This will insert the element into the page and open up the Post Submission Form 2 Settings window where you can choose what fields to display.
Step 4: Click Save Changes when you’re finished.
Approved/Pending Posts Page
You can create a page to display all the posts a user has submitted via the form. To do this, do the following:
Step 1: Create a new page, give it a title, leave the page empty and click Publish.
Step 2: Now go to Aardvark > Theme Options > Post Types > Post Submission Page and select this page from the Approved/Pending Posts Page dropdown menu.
Step 3: If you’re using BuddyPress a “Posts” tab will be added to the users frontend profile page, you can disable this tab from Aardvark > Theme Options > BuddyPress > Members Page > Profile Posts Tab.
Post Editing Page
You can create a page for users to edit their submitted posts. To do this, do the following:
Step 1: Create a new page, give it a title, leave the page empty and click Publish.
Step 2: Now go to Aardvark > Theme Options > Post Types > Post Submission Page and select this page from the Post Editing Page dropdown menu.
Post Preview Page
You can create a page so users can see what their post will look like when it’s been published to the site. To do this, do the following:
Step 1: Create a new page, give it a title, leave the page empty and click Publish.
Step 2: Now go to Aardvark > Theme Options > Post Types > Post Submission Page and select this page from the Post Preview Page dropdown menu.
Approving Posts
Once a user has submitted a post the following happens:
- Posts are held in a review queue and need to be approved before they show up on the site (this can be changed to automatic approval)
- The admin is emailed about the user submitted post (this can be disabled by editing the element)
- A user can edit their posts from the post list page
- A user can edit their posts after they have been approved without review (this can be changed from Aardvark > Theme Options > Post Types > Post Submission Page)
- A user cannot delete their submitted posts (this can be changed from Aardvark > Theme Options > Post Types > Post Submission Page)
